What Are Affiliate Programs
Do they work?
Why should I sign up with one?
What to look for in one.

With the exception of the web site design material in the Artworx1 site design area everything on this site is an affiliate program right down to the counter service. (feel free to click on everything and check them out)
An  internet affiliate program sometimes called a partners program is a means by which a large established company can market it's goods or services through other outlets or other sites.

WARNING
There are a lot of companies out there who are really selling the "opportunity" for you to make more money for them.
They usually want money up front for you to have the right to sell their product or service.
Often they proceed to help you sell others on the idea of paying them to be able to sell their product. (Rather than helping you sell the product itself)
In most cases their real product is the right to sell their product.

A good affiliate program can be the difference between the success or failure of a web site.

A good affiliate program will NOT charge you to participate.

They MAY allow you a commission on what those who sign up under you sell. (but they will help you learn to sell their product)

Affiliate programs are to your advantage because they do all of the work except getting the customers.
You just need to promote your site and their product and they handle all the rest.
Those of you who already have a site can add a great service to it right now and be making money from it in no time.
An auction site (one of the hottest things on the net right now) Can complement just about any site.

As an exercise Click Here and go to the banner at the bottom of the page, Click on it and follow the directions.
You will then be the proud owners of an auction outlet for your customers.

If you already have a main product that your selling and you are thinking that advertising someone else's stuff is going to distract from your own sales remember this, when your customer is done with your site they are going to go some where else anyway.
Why not have it be somewhere that is going to put more money back in your pocket.

Just be sure to balance the focus on your site so that it will lead your customers first to where you most want them. Lead them down  a path.
